Yes. It's like going to visit your grandmother: cluttered rooms, the smell of face powder, and blankets on the bed of questionable age and cleanliness. The owner is very nice and she cooks a great breakfast. However that isn't enough to overcome fact that we didn't feel comfortable touching the bedding or walking barefoot on the carpet in our room. I had hoped for a nice, romantic place overlooking a picturesque bay on the Oregon coast. What I got was a dingy, creepy room with too much furniture and a view of impoverished homes and industrial buildings fronting a working port. What a disappointing stay we had. There must be better places in or near Coos Bay. If we return to the area, we'll seek them out.

The most wonderful part of our stay was the proprietor - Sally. She is a very charming, funny, and warm woman. Sally took very good care of us, made wonderful breakfasts, and made sure we were comfortable.

My fiance and I came up to Coos Bay to attend a friend's wedding. We didn't want to stay at a motel, and there wasn't much of a selection of anything else. When the option of staying at a B&B came up, I thought, "why not?" We stayed three nights, and we got three wonderful breakfasts that all started with a beautiful bowl of fruit followed by a combination of eggs (scrambled how you want it or in the form of a veggie quiche, potatoes (country style, hash brown, and scalloped), turkey bacon & sausage, toast, and homemade blackberry jam. As well as anything you want to drink. Sally, the owner and one of the sweetest ladies ever, asked us ahead of time what we liked for breakfast, and she was very willing to accommodate us, even if we had any diet restrictions. It did feel a little like we were visiting grandma, but the experience was very enjoyable. Staying at this bed and breakfast definitely beats staying in a motel. Even though we booked the Maple room to save money, Sally upgraded us to the Magnolia for no extra charge. I actually really liked that room, so I would definitely recommend it. It had a king bed and a twin day bed (which we didn't need because there was just the two of us. but the room and bathroom space fit our needs. Also, the free drinks in our fridge and a microwave in the room was an unexpected perk. The only thing I would say is there is no need to stay in Coos Bay/Bandon]Coquille very long. We felt like we did just about everything we needed to do in 1 or 2 days (not including the day we attended the wedding). Overall, This Olde House Bed and Breakfast is the best place to stay in Coos Bay, Or if your visiting the Oregon Coast.

I stayed here in the room on the overlooking the "Widow's Walk" as Bee D. put it, with her and Mr. Bee. It had a lot of charm and breakfast had a LOT of food. blueberry frenchtoast, potatoes, sausage, eggs, bacon, croissants, fruit, homade blackberry jam (the festival was this weekend) and 4 drinks to choose from. I slept in the daybed and it was very comfortable. We also found a bottle of wine in the refrigerator in the bathroom. The owner is a sweetheart and I would love to return again and will definetly recommend this place.

I found this b&b online when searching for someplace to stay during my brothers recent nuptuals. Every review I read basically said the same thing, the owner is super and the breakfast is great. So, I can't just repeat the same thing everyone else said, so I'm going to say, "the breakfast is super and the owner is great!" Ha, ha. All kidding aside, this place was very nice. It was like going to visit your grandmother, the one with the flowery wall paper and the windows made with the old glass that makes everything outside look wavey. Yes the widows could have used a wash, and if you looked really hard you might find a little dust, but: 1/ The location is very accessible 2/ They have manual fitness (you have to climb the stairs to get to your room) 3/ The rooms are comfortable. Ours (the magnolia) had a king bed, twin daybed and a small eating area. Our private in-suite bathroom also had a refrigerator and microwave. 4/ You get a complimentry bottle of wine, juice and bottled water. 5/ The owner, Sally, is very friendly and she's just as cute as can be. 6/ Breakfast is awesome. Ours consisted of juices (plural), baked french toast with fresh blueberries, scrambled eggs, cottage potatoes, bacon, sausage, croissants and home made blackberry jam. (Oh and a variety of hot beverages including coffee, tea and hot cocoa). 7/ And a jar of homemade blackberry jam to take home! She will give you a discount (10%) on your return visit. So if you're visiting the Oregon Coast and want to stay in a nice friendly, comfortable atmosphere, just off of Hwy 101, than send an email or call Sally. Tell her Sisi's Family sent you. You won't regret it! Our rooms was $145 + tax for 3 persons ($156 total). Don't let those Oregonians fool you, they have tax, the just charge it to the tourists! But worth the price.

This is my dream house! Sure the furnishings are not up to date. And who's coming to Coos Bay expecting Mendocino? But seriously, if it's a toss up between the best western and this--choose this spot, hands down. I feel like I'm staying with my sweet and vivacious 89yr old grandmother-in-law. Sally welcomed us w open arms, had just baked a fresh pie, and enthusiastically told me about the quiche we would be enjoying in the morning while offering me a bottle of welcome wine. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, the linens were clean and the food was great! I love her and I love her space--mixed floral patterns and all. Sally is now on my Christmas card mailing list.
